Hong Kong Museum of History

The Hong Kong Museum of History is located next to the Hong Kong Science Museum, in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It stores 400 million years of history into one 7,000 square metre space and gives an overview of the territory’s archaeology, ethnography, and natural and local history. Free guided tours of the museum are available in English at 11 am.

 Kowloon West Promenade

Located in the headland area of the district, Kowloon West Promenade offers all the spectacular views of Hong Kong harbour. Stroll along the boardwalk and discover a unique view of Hong Kong’s iconic waterfront. The play also serves as a great picnic spot.

DAY 2:

Big Buddha- Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery- Tai O- Pui O

Big Buddha

The Big Buddha statue stands 34 meters high (112 feet) and is one of Hong Kong’s most popular sights. Also known as Tian Tan, the statue is made of bronze and it was unveiled in 1993. The best and the most exciting way to get to the Hong Kong Big Buddha is with the Ngong Ping 360 cable car.

Po Lin Monastery

Located on Ngong Ping Plateau, on Lantau Island, opposite the Big Buddha statue, the Po Lin Monastery is one of Hong Kong’s most important Buddhist sanctums and has been dubbed ‘the Buddhist World in the South’. Rich with colourful manifestations of Buddhist iconography, the monastry is home to devout monks and has a pleasant garden too.

Tai O

Popular for its laid-back lifestyle and charm, Tai O is a traditional fishing village dating back three centuries. Shops are filled with dried seafood of various varieties and the place is home to the Tanka people. Given a picturesque view of the ocean and the old stilt houses, there are enough opportunities to click pictures. You can also take a boat ride to see the dolphins. Beside coming here by ferry, you can take bus 21 from Ngong Ping 360.

A popular destination for holiday camping in Hong Kong, Pui O is a beautiful beach which offers great scenery and clear waters. Ocean Park

It is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park, situated in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong. The theme park has various attractions and rides, including four roller coasters, and also animal exhibits with different themes, such as a giant panda habitat, rainforest and polar displays, as well as an aquarium featuring the world’s largest aquarium dome. The fun and thrill that one you will experience here is beyond saying.

The park is separated by a large mountain into two areas, The Summit (Headland) and The Waterfront (Lowland). These areas can be reached by a 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) cable car system, or the Ocean Express funicular railway. The park is too big to be covered in a day so it is recommended that you spare a day just for this fun-filled location in case you have time in hand.
