Hamburg (Germany’s second-largest city) is the best city to go out in the night, says a new study. Hamburg beats cities like New York, London, Paris, Dublin etc. snatching the top spot away. Following Hamburg is another German state Berlin, claiming the 3rd spot. Seems like Germany is the new New York!
Residents of 27 nations were surveyed about the nightlife in their respected cities. The online survey was conducted by a hostel booking service called HostelWorld. The research was tabulated into 5 categories i.e. quality of nightlife; openness and friendliness of the locals; safety assurance; how easy it is to traverse through the city and the obvious, cost involved.
Hamburg was voted best for openness and friendliness and as well as for the transportation and the linking between the citys highlights. Openness and friendliness include how gallant and courteous the residents are when it comes to greeting travellers. Getting around with ease also concerns how close and reachable the places and points of interests are for the residents.
Hamburg stood second along with the Danish capital Copenhagen, in quality of life. This consists of multiple elements such as restaurants, bars, clubs etc. Not to much surprise, New York out shined Hamburg and Copenhagen in this category. Berlin, another German state managed to stand 3rd in this category along with San Francisco. Most of these categories are dominated by European cities but only New York and San Francisco managed to claim the few high spots. If you wish to experience similar quirky and cool atmosphere, Amsterdam, Dublin and Gothenburg are worth to be on your list.
Interestingly, popular cities like Tokyo, Rome, and London didn’t make it in the top 20. The UK capital grabbed the 26th spot on the list. Tokyo, London was amongst the expensive ones and Rome was omitted because of poor transportation links. Prague and Mumbai are amongst the most cost-efficient ones. Other notable names listed were Bangkok and Jakarta. Mumbai was able to grab the 19th spot with Delhi following it on the 24th spot.
Indubitably, Hamburg is the best for night outings because of its convenience, quality of life and safety. Also, being one of the most stunning cities on planet earth helps to earn this much credit. With sophisticated clubs, bars and restaurants to enjoy your weekends, you nights never go dull in this city. The popular street of St. Pauli is the city’s major attraction here that has some amazing bars and nightclubs lined up to bewitch all party freaks. Popular bars include; Skyline 20up, Le Lion Bar De Paris, Turmbar Hamburg etc.
Let’s see how other cities stand in the Top-10 variant. Here are all the top ten position holders.
