Heavenly Experience in God’s Own Land

Kerala known for it’s alluring festivals, culture, food, scenic beauty allures various tourist towards it. I went to Kerala in December 2014. The peak time to travel in south India is usually Decembers; due to the less humid air and scorching heat. The weather was soothing and refresh! The place is must-go for every sort of travelling group be it family, friends, loner, shopoholics etc. I stayed at Terrace Green ( a Sterling Holiday resorts), Munnar. I didn’t choose various hotels to accommodate because trips are for refreshing yourself and not to make it a hay-day! This resort gives you breakfast and dinner. Since it’s 2-3 km away from the Punarjanni market, one can do the sizzling south Indian lunch there at an economical rate.

DAY I

So my flight landed on 22 December at Cochin International Airport in Morning . My first visit in the state was Munnar and probably the longest. Munnar is a mountainous region in the South India which sounds quite weird because usually mountains are in North India. It is quite pleasant in Munnar than any other districts in Kerala. I visited the local site seeing that is the Punarjsni market in the noon and interacted with the natives there. They are damn sweet people, ready to help you in any sort. And in evening i went to see the famous dance form Kathakali (live) performed at Punarjani village at 5-6 p:m at a very nominal rate of 200 INR.

DAY II

The next day I left for Anamudi Peak which is the highest peak in Kerala. It marks the geographical boundary between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It takes you two hours at least to reach up and consequently to come down as well. The adventure lovers must visit here because the way to reach there is quite risky.

The roads gets narrower as you reach closer to the point and the height obviously keeps on increasing. There would be also wild deer in your way. You are also not allowed to take your personal vehicles. So I hired a jeep to reach the place so heavenly described to me by the natives. The clouds were literally smashing my face and fresh breeze over my soul. It was literally a life time experience to be there.

DAY III

After the tiring trekking it was time to relax myself. So I went to Alappuhza  also known as ” Venice of the east”, famous for backwaters. Recently a fmous erotic movie “Alone” was released starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover which was also directed here. I booked a house boat not to stay but just to have a round about the district. I sat on the terrace of the house boast enjoying the heavenly Kerala tea with cheaply available banana chips. Wonno know wat was the view from my boat? down here!!

DAY IV

I had my night flight this day. But I was so in love with this place, that I didn’t wish to leave it without any memory. So what next! Without thinking twice I went to shopping. I left for Cochin, because my neighbor told me that there is a shop called Kalayan Silks Kerala where you can buy amazing silk Sarees and textile clothes in cheaper rate than any other districts. Phew! what else a shopoholic needs , good clothes and not so expensive too. So my whole noon was spent on The White Steets, Cochin where this showroom is located at.

Happy with my complete (because it includes shopping, adventure, sight-seeing. nature and refreshing) and successful (because I  came alive through such heart-fill adventure) trip, I took my flight. I would strongly recommend all you to book your tickets for Kerala as soon as possible and have an experience that might last longest in your hearts. Au revoir for now!
