The Icehotel was set in the Sweden village of Jukkasjärvi in 1989 to give new shape to ice and winters. It gets its ice from the Torne River in winter and the water gets back to its source when it melts in summer. This way there is always a different design of the hotel every winter. The hotel is all about ice and creativity. It is a really unique experience to enjoy your stay.
A piece of craft
The suites are designed and crafted from artists all around the globe. Since its establishment, 546 artists have worked on it and given it an amazing look with their work. The chandeliers beautifying the main hall are made from 1000 hand-cut ice crystals. 35,000 m³ of snow and ice is used to build this giant palace which equals 700 million snowballs.

Unique Experience
At an average, the temperature inside the Icehotel, is -5°C/ 21° F due to the insulating effect of the snow. Outside, the temperature stays -40°C/-40°F in the month of January. They have everything within this wonderful compound. You can enjoy your evening at the Icebar or get married at the Ice Church. They have it all for you.
Luxury Stay
The palace of ice includes two heated restaurants, lounge, four meeting rooms and two wilderness camps. It has around 300 beds; 150 warm and 150 cold beds. The rooms are designed with different themes; from the Flying Buttress to the Eye Suite, the guests will be at utmost comfort and have really different experience while they stay at the Icehotel.
