Hidden among the area’s many canals, the site is famous for the hundreds of dolls—and doll parts—hanging from trees and scattered among the grass. A man named Julian Santa Barrera, after finding a dead girl’s body in a nearby canal hung her washed-up doll on a tree to pay his respects. He spent the next fifty years adding the dolls. The dolls are believed to be possessed by the spirit of the young child. The dolls were ragged, damaged and got covered with soot over the years and now look scary as hell. If you dare to visit this place; don’t forget to get the little girl a doll, she needs to play!

Poveglia island , Italy

This real life ‘Shutter island’ has been a place of exile and a dumping ground for the deceased for centuries. Ghost hunters claim that this spot is a hotbed of paranormal activity. In the late 1800s, the area’s mentally ill resided in an asylum in Poveglia. There are rumors that in the 1930s, a doctor performed strange experiments on the patients here; eventually, the doctor went mad and threw himself from the asylum’s tall bell tower. Though the bell in the tower was removed decades ago, locals still claim to hear its chimes echo from the lonely island. Italians like to keep Poveglia at the bottom of their list of tourist attractions.

Like many castles around the world, Château de Brissac is also said to be possessed by it’s resident ghost. According to the legend, Charlotte, the illegitimate daughter of King Charles VII, was killed by her husband, after discovering her affair. Jacques caught his wife and her lover red-handed, and in a fit of rage, murdered the adulterous couple. Visitors claim to have seen a “Green Lady,” because of the color of her dress, roaming the halls. It seems her soul remains trapped in the place where her life was taken so violently.
Stull Cemetery

Stull is a tiny town in Kansas, just a collection of a few houses, a church, and a graveyard. The town is also home to a number of legends and strange tales that are linked to the crumbling old church and the overgrown cemetery. According to the local legend, they were actually built on top of one of the “seven gateways to hell”. For years, stories of witchcraft, ghosts and supernatural happenings have surrounded the old graveyard. It became a hip thing to go to the Stull on Halloween night in 1970’s.

The Myrtles Plantation was a beautiful example of Old South Antebellum architecture. However, all this beauty hid a very sinister history – which many believe started with a slave girl named Chloe who was hanged to death from one of the oak trees after poisoning her owner’s family. Soon strange incidents were reported in the house. In later years, the plantation house was turned into a bed and breakfast. The visitors claim to have seen a long-haired woman wandering into the streets during dark nights.
Riddle House, Florida

The Riddle House was built adjacent to the Woodlawn Cemetery in Palm Beach County Florida. In 1920, a man named Karl Riddle moved into this house. His employee, Joseph committed suicide in this house, and consequently, Karl Riddle and his family had to leave this place after encountering strange incidents. The house had been dismantled and transported. While moving and reconstructing the house, the workers and the carpenters experienced numerous paranormal activities; and inevitably, they had to stop the construction for six months. Since then, the Riddle House has always been the center of paranormal investigations.

Burg Wolfsegg, Wolfsegg, Germany

This 800-year-old castle in the municipality of Wolfsegg, Germany, is quite famous for its history of hauntings. It is apparently haunted by a “White Woman” who scares off any visitors who pass through. The woman is rumored to be the ghost of Klara von Helfenstein who was reportedly murdered by her jealous husband who came to know about her affair. There is a large cave in Wolfsegg, which has not been completely discovered to this day. There have been strange noises coming out of the cave area, which folks say to be quite spooky.

Borley Rectory Essex

Definitely one of the scariest places on earth with a really twisted tale, Borley was the site of the infamous Borley Rectory, reputedly the “Most Haunted House in England”. It was built in the site of an ancient monastery which has a sinister reputation known throughout the country.
An old story claims that a nun had fallen in love with a monk from the Borley Monastery. The two had tried to elope, but had been caught unfortunately. The monk was executed and the nun bricked up in the cellars of the monastic buildings! Supernatural happenings are still reported from the site of the rectory and the nearby churchyard.
Amityville house

The Amityville massacre has become one of the most famous crimes in American history. Ronald killed his entire family while they were asleep and he said he heard voices commanding him to kill. One year later Lutz family purchased it, but within days they began to notice strange phenomena. A Catholic priest who came to bless the house, heard a voice tell him to ‘Get out!’ as he sprinkled holy water in a bedroom. After 28 days, the family fled to California.
