Tour Details

This Assam Arunachal trip is probably going to change your life forever. Read below to know why.

Guwahati is the largest metropolitan city and a picturesque, chirpy, booming, sprawling part of Assam with plenty of attractions and rich cultural heritage to be soaked in by tourists. While here, an evening cruise in the Brahmaputra river is a must if you wish to enjoy the vast scenic horizons of the city and beyond.

Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, aptly called the abode of the clouds is a truly a paradise to be enjoyed. The journey itself enroute this city is so breathtaking, you couldn’t wait but reach there to explore it all.  Meghalaya is also home to Asia’s most cleanest village, Mawlynnong.

India’s least explored state, Arunachal Pradesh is beauty unsullied. It rises massively from beneath the Assam plains, covered in dense forests, astounding steep hills and winding roads that soars high above to transform inti massive snow capped mountains along the Tibetan border. Unlike most part of India, tourism in Arunachal is still a far cry in most areas, that in turn keeps its quaint virgin charm intact.

What to know before you go

This is a short and sweet manual for first timers who are excited to explore Northeast India. We want to ensure that you have a shock proof experience during your Northeast India trip and avoid those “classic first time mistakes” while you are there. Also, we have listed a few tips and giveaways for you so that you know your destination a tidsy bit better and can enjoy a wholesome vacation with your family and friends. Take note of these little pointers and you are good to go.

  • Best time to go- October-April. Weather is pleasant in October and November. It gets chillier in December and January, however, the cold is tolarable and you won't mind going out travelling. Sping is about to arrive in March, so expect the weather to turn sunnier. Avoid travelling during monsoons (June-September) to avoid constant rains and bad roads. Also, humidity during summers is a turn off for travelling.
  • Before you set foot in Northeast India, do your homework well and know which states and cities are actually part of Northeast India. (This does not include West Bengal). Northeast is vast with distinct cultures, laws and customs so, research well so that you don't end up confusing your travel itinerary and end up going somewhere else!
  • Guwahati is your gateway to travel anywhere in Northeast India as most means of transportation start off from where and is thoroughly well connected.
  • Since, Northeast is huge, hence, do NOT expect to cover it all in a blink of an eye or in just a week! NOT possible! If its your fisrt time, the easiest start would be to tick off Assam and Meghalaya from your list. At least have a week in your hand to do that to cover the surface of these states. Next time, maybe you can hit off other states turn by turn.
  • Each state has its own language and unmistakable culture. However, local folks of the major cities do understand and speak English. So, you shouldn't have much problem in communication.
