Know before you go

This is a short and sweet manual for first timers who are excited to explore Australia extravaganza. We want to ensure that you have a shock proof experience during your trip to Australia and try and avoid those “classic first time mistakes”. Also, we have listed a few tips and giveaways for you so that you know your destination a little bit better and can have a great time with your family and friends. Take note of these little pointers and you are totally good to go.

  • Best time to visit Australia- (September-November) & Autumn (March-May). The climate in Australia is opposite to the Northern hemisphere, so don't be surprised!
  • Wear lots of sun screen if you plan to enjoy the beaches immensely as Australia's sun is pretty generous!
  • Coffee and booze are religious in Australia. So, you will enjoy the best of both here.
  • Some things are forbidden from entry into the country- that may include fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, drugs etc (if it’s medication, you must get it in writing by your doctor)
  • The internet in Australia could be slow and costly, unlike in cities like London where it is possibly everywhere. Carry a hotspot with you if you stay connected at a cheaper price.
  • Cigarettes are about to get expensive as much as 40 dollars a packet. So, consider keeping that habit to the minimum if you intend to enjoy your dream holiday.
  • Taxes in restaurants can add a significant chunk on your bill. Do crosscheck before you pay the bill.
  • It isn't easy for smokers in Australia. Same goes for tourists. Smoking has been recently banned in work places, near public buildings, restaurants and in many beaches.
  • Driving is to the left in Australia in most cities. So, keep to the left if you are on the wheels.
