The Preferred Way of Going from Bangalore to Coorg
Due to the unavailability of a direct train route between Bangalore and Coorg, commuting via road is the most convenient option for a traveller. Typically, the drive takes no more than 6 hours and is an economical way of commute Bangalore to Coorg Route- The Kushalnagar Route (via Mysore-Madikeri Highway)

Coorg or Kodagu as it is officially known now, is an astonishing land in the heart of the southern Indian peninsula. This unspoilt “country of million hills”, situated on the slopes of the Western Ghats, is India’s coffee bowl. The tiny district in the state of Karnataka is the biggest producer of coffee. Coorg, a landlocked country, is not connected by train or air. It should be noted that Coorg is only a name of the district and there is no town by the name of Coorg.

Itinerary

Day 1Bangalore to Coorg

Early morning, board the Car and start your journey from Bangalore to Coorg which is approximately 270 Kms from Central Bangalore.

On route Visit- Bhagamandala Temple, Abbi Falls, and the Namdroling Tibetan Monastery and
Reach Coorg and check-in at your accommodation and relax, and Having delicious Dinner and Overnight stay at Coorg Homestay.

Day 2Coorg

Morning after breakfast. Then go for a full day sightseeing tour in and around Madikeri visiting Talakkaveri, Nisargadhama, Tibetan Monastery and the Harangi Dam.

Talakaveri – This is the origin of river Kaveri on the eastern slopes of Brahmagiri peak at 1350 metres altitude, about 8 km by road from Bhagamandala. An enclosure around the spring called Gundige is connected to a small pond beside. The water from the pond goes underground and comes out after about one kilometer down the hill. There are three shrines above the spring and birds eye view of west-coast from the hill range.

Day 3Coorg

After breakfast in the morning, we will proceed to visit the Dubare Elephant Camp (Entry Fee- Rs 800 for Indians and Rs 1437 for foreigners).
