This is a short and sweet manual for first timers who are excited to explore Georgia. We want to ensure that you have a shock proof experience during your Georgia travel and avoid those “classic first time mistakes” while you are there. Also, we have listed a few tips and giveaways for you so that you know your destination a tidsy bit better and can enjoy a wholesome vacation with your family and friends. 

 

  • Best time to book Georgia travel - March-May (Spring), Autumn- September-November (Autumn) October-December-February ( Winter) for skii lovers
  • Learn some basics of Georgian or Russian words if you plan to move into the interiors. English is spoken widely in the central cities.
  • Georgia is a safe country. You can even spot children playing in the streets after dusk.
  • Get ready to see some good number of monasteries that too tucked away up in the hills. So, yeah, you get to do a lot of hiking!
  • Include Vardzia in your trip. Its an incredible looking monastery nestled inside a mountain!
  • Tbilisi, albiet the capital city, gives you the feel of a medieval town. Despite this, it has awesome nightlife and various things to do. Must include in your itinerary is the cable car ride.
  • If you love bread, cheese and pastries, you will love Georgia because it pretty much defines Georgian food. Plus, its cheap and delicious!
  • If you are in the land of wine originator, leaving the country without tasting some fine wine would be a sin!

Itinerary

Day 1Tbilisi International Airport - Hotel (Tbilisi)

Welcome to Georgia travel and welcome to Tbilisi. Upon arrival at the Airport, you will be met by our local representative who will transfer you to the city hotel.

Day 2Full day Trip to Mtskheta, Gori & Uplistsikhe (Tbilisi)

Transfer to the ancient capital of Georgia – Mtskheta. The city was founded in the 1st century BC and was the capital for eight centuries before the 5th century BC Landmarks in Mtskheta listed as world cultural heritage and are under protection of UNESCO. A visit to the Cathedral of Mtskheta, which holds the greatest relic of the Georgian Church – Heaton Lord and Jvari monastery on top of a mountain, offering regal views over the city. This is the place that inspired the poet Lermontov’s poem to create a “Novice.”

Drive to Gori.Visiting the museum of Stalin. Visit one of the rarest monuments in the world – ancient cave city Uplistsikhe, carved into the volcanic rock ridge Kvernaki. The rock had been carved hundreds of different structures – temples, public buildings, houses, streets, squares, etc. The cave city remained an outstanding two-column reception room of Queen Tamara, with arched niches and huge pylons. Uplistsikhe was a cult temple town, close to the center of pagan acceptance of Christianity by Georgia (IV in.). There were all kinds of pagan rituals, sacrifices. Then it began to build Christian churches.
Return to Tbilisi for Overnight stay.

Day 3Full Day Kazbegi (Tbilisi)

Transfer to Mtiuleti region on the Georgian Military Highway, in the ski resort Gudauri . On the way visit Ananuri fortress, which is located on the shores of picturesque Lake Zhinvali. The fortress belonged to one of the most powerful feudal families of late medieval Georgia – Aragvi Eristavi . The fortress belongs to the early feudal era. She served as an outpost of defense, blocking the road running from the Daryal Gorge in the Caucasian mountains.

Transfer to the village of Stepantsminda , overlooking the jewel of the Caucasus mountain range – Mount Kazbegi . Walking uphill climb to Gergeti , to the church of the Holy Trinity . The church is located at an altitude of 2170 m, at the foot of the top of Kazbegi . Built in the XIV century shrine, it is the only cross-domed church in Khevi. (Distance from village to church – 4km . Approximate recovery time 1.5h , descent – 1h .To climb the mountain , in the center of the city you can rent a car . Capacity – 6 people (Extra Charge ). Overnight at Tbilisi

Day 4Half Day At Leisure Tbilisi (Tbilisi)

Free time to spend as per your interests. You can relax at the hotel and enjoy the recreational activities available (subject to direct payment if chargeable) or explore the surroundings on your own.
Alternatively, you can replace this option with any other sightseeing tour available in this package.

Day 5Hotel - Tbilisi International Airport (Tbilisi)

Your Georgia travel come to an end here today. Check out from the hotel and get transferred to the airport for your journey to further destination .

All tours are subject to weather conditions and will operate only if weather permits, no refund will be given if services are not operated due to weather or natural problems.

Please make sure you follow the timings given by the driver and guide for all the services and transfers. In case you fail to follow the timings, the Driver will leave for which no refund will be given.

Hotel and airline cancellations to be applied.

Hotels suggested in the itinerary can be changed and will be equivalent or more to the one given to you in terms of price as per the official rate sheet of the hotel.

Please note to take care of the visa processing and its time as we will not be responsible for any kind of delays or refusal of visa from the concerned consulate and the cancellation policy of the holiday will be applied.

The above tour cost is calculated as per the current taxes, visa charges and other charges as per the current date. Any change till the time of departure and any additional cost of such nature will have to be taken care by the client.
