Bhimtal is a lake city named after Bhima, the charismatic mythological character of Mahabharata. Revered for its aesthetic beauty, Bhimtal proudly sits at an altitude of 1,370 metres above sea level. This lake city is gaining popularity with each day as it is located in the vicinity of Nainital and features some of the stately hotels that are comparatively cheaper than that of Nainital. Bhimtal is an idyllic and less-crowded version of Nainital, 23 km away. In contrast to Nainital that is always bustling with activity and crowd, Bhimtal is more of an idyllic place which is less crowded. The scenic lakeside destination is a treat for the love birds as they can enjoy boating, paddling, birding, nature walks and adventurous terkking here. Bhimtal lake is at a scenic spot with a small island at its centre on which there is a beautiful large aquarium which was previously a restaurant. Early morning around 4am, board the Car and start your journey from Delhi to Bhimtal which is approximately 300 Kms from Central Delhi (Journey will take approximately 7 to 9 Hours).
Enroute Nainital, stop at Moga Punjabi Tadka (Gajraula Haveli Resort) for Breakfast (on own cost). After breakfast continue your journey to Bhimtal. Around 1pm, reach Bhimtal and check-in at your accommodation and relax.
In the evening enjoy boating for an hour at The Bhimtal lake. Bhimtal is a beautiful lake centered amidst green mountains. Being the most peaceful and soothing, Boating in Bhimtal Lake is a must-do activity for visitors. Boating experience at Bhimtal Lake takes traveler into the lap of nature and thus giving solace to the heart and the mind, along with its tranquility. Post boating, experience Water Zorbing at the Bhimtal Lake for 15 minutes. Bhimtal is one of the must visit site for all the travelers who comes to Nainital. Being the biggest lake in the Kumaon region, it has many activities at the lake itself. Water zorbing involves getting into a large inflatable ball that allows you to walk, run, jump and dance on the surface of water without getting wet. one side and the mountains on the other. Visit the Hanuman Garhi, go past the Victoria Dam, pay homage at the Bhimeshwar Mahadev Temple, and KarkotakaTemple. Explore the Markets, and head towards the Hidimba Parvat.
Return to your accommodation and enjoy your breakfast. Post that get ready for another adventure activity – Kayaking for 30 minutes. Bhimtal is the biggest lake in the Nainital District and is the only lake in the Kumaon region with a small island in the middle. But while boating is an activity of peace and beauty, Kayaking is an activity of thrill and excitement. Kayaking is both for Nature as well as Adventure Sports Lovers. Upon reaching the site, a trained kayaking guide will teach the required skills and techniques. In the evening, you will be taken to Tiffin Top to enjoy the sunset. Tiffin Top is located at 4Km from Mall Road of Nainital. Hike up to the top or take a Pony from Bus Stand (on own cost). A popular picnic spot in Nainital, Tiffin Top (also known as Dorothy’s Seat) is located on Ayarpatta hill, offers a magnificent 360 degree view of the Nainital town and surrounding hills of Kumaon region. For dinner, you may opt to dine under the sky at your accommodation or we recommend you to try Sizzlers, Steaks, Thai Curries and Pastries at the Famous Sakleys at Mall Road. Or explore Chandni Chowk (The biggest highlight of this place is the Old Delhi style ambiance. On the outside, it resembles the famous Red Fort in Delhi. Spring-summer (March through May): This is the best time to visit Nainital. All the tourist hot-spots, sightseeing places and adventure activities are open for business. The temperature ranges from 10 degree Celsius to 27 degree Celsius.
