What to know before you go

This is a short and sweet manual for first timers who are excited to explore Himachal Pradesh We want to ensure that you have a shock proof experience during your Shimla Manali to Rohtang Pass trip and avoid those “classic first time mistakes” while you are there. Also, we have listed a few tips and giveaways for you so that you know your destination a tidsy bit better and can enjoy a wholesome vacation with your family and friends. Take note of these little pointers and you are good to go.

  • Best time to go to Manali to Rohtang pass - April-June (Spring Season) Weather is a little chilly and temperature falls at night. However, a bonfire makes the weather very enjoyable! Those who wish to enjoy snow & wander in the magnetic views of the snowcapped peaks, November-December is the right time to do so. January becomes even colder, so unless you are ready to accept that, we would suggest otherwise.
  • For a perfect wholesome trip to these hill stations, take at least 5 days with you. 2 days in SHimla & 3 days in Manali is perfect to cover all that best spots in these towns .
  • While travelling to these high altitude hill stations, try not to have heavy meals, it might create nausea and vomiting and an upset stomach.
  • Whenver travelling to a hilly destination, keep urself updarted with the latest news on road conditions, weather conditions to ensure any hiccups or unexpected challenges during your travel.
  • Since, weather in the hills is always unpreictable, it is always better to carry at least one heavy woolen jacket and a good pair of shoes to shield yourself from the cold..
  • Read about the hotels you have booked or about to. Reviews generally help match your expectations and avoid unwanted surprises!
  • Carry identity proof and first aid kit with you always.
