On your first day, we will explore the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi. As you wander in the old districts of the city along their narrow winding lanes and cobbled streets, patterned colorful houses and their balconies, you will lead yourself eventually to the main sights of the city. Be prepared to witness some startling modern architecture as well.
Our tour begins from Metekhi church (13th century) that faces marvelous view over old Tbilisi. After sightseeing on the main city highlights, we will ride in cable cars to the ancient Narikala fortress of the 4th century to soak in the sweeping views of this prepossessing town. We, then, walk down to the historical domed Sulphur baths in the midst of the old town, the name that connects itself to the city name.

Today, we visit the country’s ancient capital and religious center, Mtskheta that is 3000 years old and catch sight of its historical places such as the Jvari church and the imposing Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where the Robe of Christ was buried. Post visit, we drive to visit the town of Gori and its intriguing antique place: Uplistsikhe Cave Town that belongs to the 1st millennium BC.
Some 10 kms away from Gori in eastern Georgia, Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock hewn town where the Great Silk Road used to pass. An old dramatic complex with dwelling quarters, bakeries, wine-cellars, a three-nave basilica church hewn out in rock as well as an antic theater. We then return to Tbilisi and stay overnight at a hotel in the capital city.

In the morning, we drive up to the famous Georgian Military Highway, a mountain road that passes through narrow gorges squeezed between majestic Caucasus mountains leading to the Georgian-Russian border.
On the way, we visit Ananuri architectural complex (17th century); the two churches and the fortress overlooking the Zhinvali water reservoir. The church carvings are one of the best samples of the Georgian art. We, then, arrive in Gudauri ski resort, relax and enjoy some leisure time there and then drive back to Tbilisi.
